What does TFC do?

TFC is a focused, single-purpose executable that clears out temporary folders across all Windows user accounts. It bypasses locked files by shutting down the Windows Explorer shell, sweeping out caches that native tools often leave behind, and then restarts the shell.

Unlike modern multi-tools that pad their feature sets with registry cleaners or cookie managers, TFC does one job. It empties temporary data from LocalService, NetworkService, and all user profiles. It intentionally leaves your browser history, saved passwords, and cookies alone.

Upon completion, TFC generates a brief status report detailing the exact amount of space recovered. Because it forcibly halts the shell during execution, it can successfully purge locked payload directories that standard disk cleaners usually skip.

Compatibility Warning

TFC was built for Windows XP, Vista, 7, and 8.1. Do not run TFC on Windows 10 or Windows 11. Modern Windows tightly integrates the Explorer shell with universal apps and the Start Menu. Force-closing it via a legacy tool can corrupt your Start Menu or trigger boot loops with Fast Startup enabled. For modern 64-bit systems, use native Storage Sense, Disk Cleanup, or alternatives like Malwarebytes and BleachBit.
